Every effort is made to maintain the highest standard of monastic and educational training according to the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and our founders. To achieve this, and to fulfill our commitment, we need your help.

When Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche established the monastery and the nunnery, it was their wish that all nuns and monks should be totally taken care of in order to allow them the freedom to concentrate on their Dharma education. For this reason all facilities, including education, is offered completely free of charge to all monks and nuns. With your help, the nunnery provides a secure and supportive environment for both young and old members of it’s community.
Your sponsorship is a commitment to cover the day to day living cost of a nun. The sponsorship money that is received contributes to the care of all the nuns equally. In this way you are supporting the whole monastic community in their study and practice of the teachings of the Buddha, while the benefits of your generosity will continue as long as the nunnery exists.

You can choose between a part sponsorship at 20 US$ or a full sponsorship at 40 US$ per month, whichever suits your budget.For 40 US$ per month, (480 US$ per year) you provide a nun with all necessities of daily life - food, clothing, medical care. If a full sponsorship is not within your budget, you can also partially sponsor a nun for 20 US$ per month (240 US$ per year.) You name and contact details will be added to our e-newsletter and to our mailing list. Once a year the nunnery offers a special puja for all the benefactors and sponsors and your name will be added to this dedication.

Making payment for your sponsorship Set up a monthly deduction from your credit card - this is not only more convenient for you; it also helps the nunnery with long term planning. Or make a yearly payment. Simply click on the Donation button below, which will take you to the payment page, and choose your option. If it is not possible for you to sponsor a monk or nun at this time, consider making a one-off donation to the Food Fund, Education Fund or Medical Fund. We will confirm all sponsorships and donations by mail. You will also receive the occasional e-newsletter from the Monastery.
